At school I never really quite understood writing essays and being able to summarise things. However, a bit like my artwork, stick a pencil in my hand, kick start my imagination, and ask me to come up with some verses to describe something….different story. Here is a motivational train of thought, and what better way than to recount about love too, than what your children, and in my case, two lovely daughters mean to me;
There once was a time I held your hand in my hand, your fingers only the length of a nail, ri
ght there and then I swore we would be friends, and
my love for you never would fail.
You wouldn’t know back then that this would never end, my heart it was wrapped round your finger, I would give to see those eyes wide and free, that chuckle I would cherish in moments that linger.
As you grew so did I with a pride deep inside, My heart how it grew with your learning, I could see you were a star whether near or far, And I knew a life you would be yearning.
You continue to grow and boy how I know, your beauty it shows inside and out, from hair to your feet you look so complete, a sheer model of love no doubt.
You have moved on since then in mind and heart too, you want to blossom and be independent, my duty to you is to see this right through, this decision of mine unrependent.
Life will change you so much with a word smile or touch, from a stranger who will become your best friend, still I will wait by your side with a heart full of pride, till i know my duty is at end.
For as much as I try to help at each step, I know you will have to do this alone, for we learn by mistake, we’re not perfect, we break, but know I’m at the end of a phone.
I want you to know that I love you so much, your laughter and joy I will cherish, stay wild and free and fill your world full of glee, not with sorrow or soon you will perish.
That baby smile has grown into a face that I have known, and the beauty I know it won’t falter, for life goes on and I must also move on, but you know you are my world, you’re my daughter.
