Books and references to motivation

There are many articles and self help books out, in hard back, in well known book stores, on the internet, or in the media, which either directly deal with motivation, or incorporate things to do with the subject. So just Google on it and see.

Researching how to maintain a motivat

ed team or workforce, for an Institute of Leadership and Management (Level 4) course, I found heaps of references to a lot of theories behind the subject. As you will see, some familiar names crop up each time. Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, Herzberg etc. Well worth a read and you dont have to study the original source documents to get a basic understanding about motivation.

I might add my study on here in time, but for now just have a cursory read of the titlesvgiven below, to digest the bits which matter to you most now or make sense. Some of these self help books deal with subjects closely related to you as a personality and also the struggles which people encounter when seeking help

Such things as; anxiety, depression, and probably a fundamental one as far as I am concerned, confidence.

All these references proved invaluable to me when I researched them.

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs

The Magic of Thinking Big – Schwartz – 1987

Feel the fear and do it anyway – Susan Jeffers

Stop thinking start living – Richard Carlson

I have attended some good courses on motivation and found some terrific sources in tutors and inspirational people. See below for some really good references and websites to go to,
