Artwork, Poetry and Music
As it says on the tin, this section is devoted to the Arts. Whether that be Art itself with drawings and paintings, or other forms of art, such as, poetry and music.
The original concept for this website was actually for me to get my artwork, mainly pencil and ink drawings, out in the public domain. Put on display for folks to see, to help re-instill confidence in me, and to show my family, friends and others that, for all that people see of you on the outside, there is a whole lot to you than meets the eye, and what you are capable of.
As you will see in the various pages on this site, what is on display here is still my own artwork, with some home grown poetry chucked in, and a whole lot of music.
Art. I get immense amount of pleasure and motivation from being able to draw and replicate the people, characters and animals which have influenced, and still continue, to influence me. My art influences stem from various sources. Namely; my father in particular, my sister, and the likes of such artists as Banksy, Dali, Escher, Phillip Castle, Pollyanna Pickering, and many, many more.
Poetry is something I love to hear about, whether it be passionate, descriptive or humourous. Such poets such as Coleridge, Byron, through to Spike Milligan. All have their own place in my world and a way of capturing my emotions at the time.
Music. Definitely close to my heart and a great source of inspiration no matter what place or mood you may find yourself in.
In the Art section I will be developing things in time to show people how I draw (showing common mistakes and helpful solutions) with the use of images or videos. I also hope to be presenting other talented people’s works, including family and friends, or links to their websites or videos, with their permission. I have already started down that road here with a Guests Gallery, and as you will see, I have included my youngest daughter’s excellent painting of the Joker from Batman. Talent doesn’t discriminate about what age you are, and there are some fantastic latent artists who, for whatever reason, choose to “keep their lights under their bushells”, when they could and should so easily be displaying them for the populus to see. Hope you enjoy what you see and feel free to comment on anything, so long as its fair, positive and constructive.
